Is It Possible to Sell Like Amazon.com in Ecuador?

In the two years in London working with Amazon.com, I learned 3 things that can be applied in Ecuador:

1. Technological innovation does not stop:

Amazon began operating in 1995 when there were no fast Internet connections as the number of consumers who used this tool was relatively scarce in the United States. In 1989 there were only 100,000 people with online access in the United States and currently there are over 220 million. According to Supertel in Ecuador for 2000 had 180.000 Internet users, there are now 2.5 million and 1.5 million users on Facebook. What does this mean for Ecuador? One can assume two things with certainty: 1) The Ecuadorians are now online and fast access to the use of new digital media and 2) the rate of growth is impressive.

2. Tendency to action:

According to Jeff Bezos Amazon.com founder: "We live in a time of unheralded revolution and insurmountable opportunity - Provided we make every minute count." The Spanish expression would result in ¨ shrimp that falls asleep is carried away by the current ¨.

In today's online market already proven strategies and tools that enable companies to increase their sales more easily. When these tools are used effectively, online marketing campaigns can have a huge impact on the marketing and efforts to improve customer service. For example Amazon uses affiliate marketing campaigns to grow their online sales and generating more than $ 1.2 billion in annual sales through this strategy can be applied in Ecuador or abroad to gain more sales at lower cost.

3. The customer wants to shop online, but ... where?

Ecuadorians online market access and the most widely used and certainly it is credit cards. According to records of Diners Club, over 40% of its users make purchases and payments via the Internet. Minho Francisco, vice president and Consumer Card refers Banco Pichincha: 8.4% of customers are part of their purchases online, with a growing number of transactions at a rate of between 50% and 100% annually.

What does this mean? What we are witnessing a major evolutionary step where Ecuadorian consumers are already buying products and services online. Companies that adopt new online solutions, will thrive in a fast growing market and will benefit from access to new customers with lower costs.

"What's dangerous is not to evolve" Jeff Bezos.
