Advertise on Talk Radio may be better than ads on Radio Music
Recently, I noticed some of my habits when driving in my car radio. When I'm listening to music I tend to change radio stations every time a commercial comes on. When I'm listening to talk radio I tend to leave the dial as if I'm listening to a talk show or if an advertisement is playing.
I thought because this is the case and if the other listeners have the same tendencies as I do. Here's what I think: When I'm in the mood for music, I want to hear music, I do not want to listen to radio commercials. When I listen to talk radio, I am immersed in the subject under discussion, and my concentration is on this topic. A commercial break does not make me change the dial. So I end up listening to the ads.
Not only did I hear the ads on talk radio, but I also remember them. Most high ad I heard on the radio are talking "dialogue" with the ads. That is, instead of the usual jingles, ads usually involve someone talking. So they tend to "merge" with the show. For example, an ad that I heard was an applicant by a man named Saul Korman, who owns a clothing store in Toronto called Korry. The listings are always different and always involves him talking. He does not just talk about his store, but talk about other things like friends and holidays. It does not even seem like an advertisement. As I said, your ads blend in with the show and not even notice that they are ads.
