Proposal for literary analysis: Human Values, Value and Character Committed Documentary
Proposal for literary analysis: human values, the documentary value and character engaged.
1. Human values
At this point we try to examine the benefits or teachings we get from reading about human values.
We must take into account a classification of values, for example, moral values, civic values, spiritual values, religious values, material values, philosophical values, and also recognize specific values: family unity, honor, honor, justice, freedom, dignity, love, loyalty, perseverance, respect, honesty, friendship, tolerance, kindness, nationalism, and so on.
If a counter-play is presented by analyzing we can understand the importance of values that are opposed to the negative values, for example, when analyzing injustice, we will better understand the value of justice.
In the analysis we must first mention the human values that are reflected in the work or the lessons to be drawn from the reading. Then we must support these values reflect how the work (one paragraph). Finally, we give a conclusion or opinion.
To support, explain and analyze the behaviors or ways of being which denote the values indicate.
Example of an outline of topics for paragraphs in an essay: introduction, moral values, civic values, religious values, conclusion. Another scheme could be the following: Introduction, justice, honesty, respect, love, friendship, conclusion.
2. The documentary value
Apart from the literary value of human values, a work may have value or importance in other ways, for example, can serve as a document for a given company time. In this case it is of documentary value of the work, and it can refer to the historical, geographical, social, economic, scientific, political, psychological, philosophical, educational, religious, sociological, artistic, etc..
The documentary value is analyzed as follows: First, we mention in what respects the work plans or serves as a document for society a certain time. Then how is reflected sustain the documentary value of the work at each level, examples: geographically, in the historical, social, economic, moral, educationally, politically, religiously, and so on. (A plane paragraph). Finally, we propose the conclusion or opinion.
3. The character committed
The character he has committed the work in which the author is committed to an ideology (or the accused defends it) and so also commits the reader to take a position or take an attitude to which raise. This social function of the literature is more typical of the classical period, given that these predominant reason, reflection, inquiry, questioning.
The planes in which a work may have committed are the same character in which the work may submit documentary value, but now the author has a special intention with content featuring: the advocates or the accused for readers to know and to take sides.
We can say without doubt that most of the literary trends and authors in the second half of the nineteenth century (Realism and Naturalism) until today, have denoted this social concern in the literature, which has now become a means of communication mass with great power and influence around the world. The writers exploit this medium to express their dissatisfaction with the world or with the specific environment in which they live, to denounce, to gain adherents to a particular ideological position, especially in fields like politics , religion, philosophy and economics. Today, very few in literature cultivated "art for art's sake".
Committed character analysis involves the following: in the introduction, mention what plans or ideologies accuses or defends the author, in the development, support the character reflects how committed to the work, for example, politically, religiously, economically, morally, socially, in education, philosophy, etc.. (A plane, appearance or ideology paragraph), at the end, to establish our conclusion or opinion.
